Perched along a ridge, this house addresses the client’s taste for modern architecture whilst providing a backdrop for their collection of art and dramatising the panoramic views of the Gulf of Paria. The large, double-height volume of the living/dining area is balanced by the circular volume that houses the kitchen and guest flat above. Bedrooms are located along each wing. Large overhangs and a brise soleil address rain and sun control. The tinted, heat strengthened glass meets the client’s security requirements as well as hurricane codes, and maximises views with little glare.
