about this project

This branch for Republic Bank at Tarouba capitalizes on the bank’s desire for flexible, open-plan banking. The project uses the principles of passive design to minimize heat gain and optimize user-comfort. The site presented geotechnical challenges [Tarouba “sapotay” clay] that were solved using low-tech sustainable principles – Continuous Flight Auger [CFA] piles and a geo-grid/ bermed earth wall instead of reinforced concrete retaining walls.
