A model farm and resource centre for the knowledge-transfer of small-scale sustainable farming to local farmers, this design focuses on sustainability and context. It employs passive green design and an industrial aesthetic to create a distinct dialogue for the service buildings and resource centre. The buildings are oriented to promote natural ventilation and daylighting. Low-impact storm water management is practiced through the use of open grid pavement, bioswales, overflow ponds and underground storage tanks. In addition, rainwater is harvested and low-flow plumbing fixtures are used to reduce water waste.
