Côté Ci Côté La is the culmination of a 15-year journey for clients who approached the firm in February 2016 to articulate their dream. The 2500 SF contemporary-modern villa is positioned on the coastal site to maximise occupant privacy from the street while coupling an open-plan interior with expansive glass sliding doors to frame panoramic ocean views. The design incorporates passive design strategies to mitigate microclimatic impact; the form of the building with its terraces, overhangs and window surrounds were carefully considered to baffle the harsh wind. Materials were selected for resilience in a harsh coastal environment. Designed and built within 20 months, the villa was completed on schedule for the hosting of two very important family celebrations in November 2017.
