Columbus Circle consists of luxury two-storey villas targeted at the upper rental market. Accommodation includes a double garage, maid’s suite, 4 bedroom suites, living, dining, kitchen, laundry, family room, covered verandas and a plunge pool with a view of the Gulf of Paria. The houses are a contemporary response to the traditional vernacular residential architecture of the neighborhood. The design is based upon a central double-height living space with a clerestory glass roof light around which various spaces are disposed. Materials are chosen with a simple palette of painted masonry walls, glass awning windows, flat concrete roofs, porcelain ceramic floor tiles and timber decks. Timber screens shade the large glass areas and provide privacy.
