Contemporary in its use of glass, yet responsive to the environment with its use of sun-shading devices, this building is a forward-looking design for the Ministry of Health – a design build proposal with China Railway & RGM. The metal panel and glass exterior cladding is easily accessible for maintenance along external catwalks, which also support sun- shading devices to minimize solar heat gain. The design is informed by its programmatic requirements and context as it relates to site geometry, scale and landscape.
